Hello

About Me

Caitlin Frumerie, LICSW
Life can look manageable from the outside while still feeling overwhelming internally. Therapy can offer a space to slow down, feel understood, and begin untangling the patterns, experiences, and pressures that have become difficult to carry alone.
My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship that feels warm, collaborative, grounded, and genuinely useful. I want clients to leave sessions feeling both supported and better equipped for everyday life.
I’m Caitlin Frumerie, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker based in Rhode Island. I provide therapy for adults and teens using a warm, relational, and insight-oriented approach. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel emotionally safe enough to be honest about their experiences without fear of judgment.
My professional background includes work in schools, outpatient therapy, crisis response, housing and homelessness services, and nonprofit leadership. Before focusing fully on clinical work, I spent years working in community-based roles supporting individuals and families navigating complex systems and difficult life circumstances. That experience continues to shape how I understand trauma, resilience, identity, and the ways our relationships, environments, and larger systems affect emotional wellbeing.
I have particular interest and experience in:
-
Anxiety and depression
-
Life transitions and identity exploration
-
Parenting and caregiving stress
-
Adoption and foster care
-
Gender-affirming care and LGBTQIA+ support
-
Chronic illness and health-related stress
-
Relationship challenges
-
Young adulthood, family relationships, and changing life roles
Outside of therapy, I’m a foster/adoptive mom to two young boys, and much of my life revolves around family, community, historic homes, tea, and trying to create small moments of steadiness and joy in the middle of everyday chaos. I believe deeply in the importance of human connection, humor, curiosity, and building a life that feels sustainable rather than simply survivable.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’re used to managing things on your own. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can briefly talk about what you’re looking for, answer any questions, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
I’d be honored to connect with you.
